America: Freedom to Fascism

I've just finished watching this extremely shocking documentary by filmmaker Aaron Russo. It is my intention to continue to add to this article as I research the claims made by this film. In the mean time I've been so moved by this that I feel I must immediately publish something to encourage my audience to view this film by as soon as possible, by any means available.

Synopsis: In an attempt to disprove the notion that there is no law requiring Americans to pay a federal income tax, director Aaron Russo not only finds that there really is no such law, but also uncovers alarming truths about the creation and the nature of the Federal Reserve and the IRS.
This film is loaded with surprising and disturbing information. I highly recommend seeing America: Freedom to Fascism in its entirety for yourself. In case you're not sure if you'll really be interested, here's a short list of things I learned from this movie:
- The Federal Reserve is privately owned - not a government institution
- There is no written law requiring most individual Americans to file a 1040 or pay Federal Income Tax (although the IRS illegally enforces this)
- Your Federal Income Tax dollars are not used to pay for government services. Instead they are used to pay back the interest on loans provided to the government by the Federal Reserve!
- In 2008 new federal ID cards will be instituted, which will carry radio frequency tracking devices, and will be required for performing normal public activities ranging from opening bank accounts to entering Federal buildings
This is not a movie for Democrats or Republicans. It's a movie for Americans. If you really want America to be a free country, start by informing yourself - see this movie.

Although I have no reason to doubt any ideas presented in this film, I'm not willing to take everything I see in every documentary on face value. I am completely open - in fact eager - to find any available evidence to contradict the information espoused by America: Freedom to Fascism.
